Project Overview

The program engaged 10 HEWAD staff (5 female and 5 male) in the Aino Mina district. Using a standardized curriculum, participants engaged in modules on understanding trauma, practical strategies for trauma-sensitive service delivery, and staff well-being and self-care. Through highly participatory approaches such as role-playing, group discussions, and relaxation techniques, staff developed practical skills to:

  • Identify trauma and its impacts on individuals.
  • Apply practical strategies for trauma-sensitive service delivery.
  • Implement effective self-care and coping mechanisms for personal and professional resilience.
  • Foster a safe and supportive peer-learning environment.

By combining technical expertise with cultural and logistical adaptability, the training enhanced HEWAD’s staff capacity to provide compassionate care while maintaining their own psychosocial health.
